Using the Context Menu within Protege GX you can apply a series of Override options.

Some things to take note of:

  • Context Menu commands will affect only the Selected Door.
  • You can have Multiple Doors setup with an Override but you will have to perform them one at a time.
  • Selecting Multiple Doors at once will only affect the first Selected Door.


Accessing the Context Menu:

  1. In Protege GX,
  2. Navigate to Programming > Doors.
  3. Left Click a Door.
    Note: Selecting Multiple Doors will only affect the first Selected Door.

  4. Right Click to bring up the Context Menu.
  5. See below for what the options entail.


What do these Commands do?:

Door Control:

  • Lock - Locks the Door.
  • Unlock - Temporarily Unlocks the Door.
  • Unlock Latched - Unlocks the Door until it is Locked by another Command, Schedule or other process.

Door Lockdown:
Lockdown options act as an Override State, it forces the Door into a Locked state, some options allow or deny users to use their access to still enter or exit.
"Clear" can be used to remove the Lockdown.

  • Allow Entry - The Door will be Locked and Access will be Allowed by Users who Enter.
  • Allow Exit - The Door will be Locked and Access will be Allowed by Users who Exit.
  • Allow Entry + Exit - The Door will be Locked and Access will be Allowed by all Users in both directions.
  • Deny Entry + Exit - The Door will be Locked and Access will be Denied by all Users in both directions.
  • Clear - Removes the Lockdown State.

View Recent Events:

  • View Recent Events - Shows Recent Events for the selected Door.
