Office 365 is a complex cloud-based service and has reputation for it's stability, with it going down occasionally.

Step-by-step guide

This guide is a general guide on where to look to validate whether Office 365 is experiencing issues or not.

  1. Check Reddit; are other users report issues to these subreddits?

  2. Check Twitter; are other people reporting similar issues?
    1. The Official Microsoft 365 outage account: https://twitter.com/MSFT365Status
    2. Search query: https://twitter.com/search?q=%40MSFT365Status&f=live
  3. Check the official Microsoft Service Health Status locations; these locations - if they contain an outage will generally given you more complete information including IDs, status details and affected services.

    2. https://admin.microsoft.com/?source=applauncher#/servicehealth - Note this page will obviously only work, if Microsoft 365 admin center is operational
