Problem
Sometimes spreadsheets opened in Excel online have white squares in the top left hand corner of the sheet. This can happen when someone opens that sheet in the desktop version for some reason.
Solution
- Edit the excel sheet in the Excel desktop application
- Go to the sheet that has the issue
- Press the key combination Ctrl+G
- In the window that pops up, select Special
- In the next window, select Objects and click OK
- The object in the page should be selected. Press backspace or delete to delete it.
- Repeat this for other pages in the document. It will tell you if it can't find any more objects.
