Preferred Name Support for Student Accounts

aXcelerate has support for student preferred name changes, with the student's preferred name updated in:

• Active Directory (Computer network login)
• Azure Active Directory, and all connected services including:
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Teams
• Canvas
• Virtual Classes (Zoom)
• IT Service Desk (JIRA)

Step-by-step guide:

1. Find the contact record within aXcelerate.
2. Within Update Contact add in a "Preferred Name":
   
   
   
3. The synchronization will then happen every day at 10am. A successful synchronization will add the following 'Enrolment System Notifications' to the Contact's Notes:
   

Once Freedom has been updated with the Preferred name, submit a request with IT and they will update it for the rest of the systems including:

• Active Directory (Computer network login)
• Azure Active Directory, and all connected services including:
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Teams
• Canvas
• Virtual Classes (Zoom)
• IT Service Desk (JIRA)

Once Orbund has been updated with the Preferred name, submit a request with IT and they will update it for the rest of the systems including:

• Active Directory (Computer network login)
• Azure Active Directory, and all connected services including:
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Teams
• Canvas
• Virtual Classes (Zoom)
• IT Service Desk (JIRA)
