Authentication Issues
Canvas is setup to use SAML for authentication, which supports Single Sign-On. Staff members PCs, which are joined to the domain and logged into their AD accounts should be automatically logged in.
User Can't Authenticate
- Ensure they are using their Active Directory username and password
- Ensure they are using the http://aie.instructure.com/login/saml login URL (temporary URL while Canvas is in testing/development)
User's Aren't Automatically Logged In
- Ensure PC is joined to the domain
- Ensure user is logged in via their staff AD account (not a generic account)
Any Other Problems or Procedures
Please ticket the problem/question.
- Anyone that has a question or problem with Content - route it to the relevant HOF or team/“owner” of the content for answering. Only resolve the ticket once you’ve confirmed that either:
- The HOF has answered the question to the reporter directly OR;
- The HOF has provided YOU the answer, which you relay back to the reporter
- Anyone that has a Problem or Issue with Canvas - escalate and bring to Kostas or Shank's attention
