Occasionally, IT will decommission batches of hardware that is still usable, but not suitable for our environment - In these situations IT will make these items available for Staff and Students to take for their own, free of charge.
These Devices are generally placed in a public space (such as the lobby) with a sign.
If you decide to take one of these devices, please be aware that the following conditions apply:
- Generally devices are tested and confirmed functional.
- Devices are taken "as is" - they have no warranty, no guarantee and IT will not provide any support for failures or faults.
- storage will be completely wiped, including Operating systems - You will be required to source licenses yourself.
- Some Devices may be missing power, USB and Display cables. While IT will provide these where able, however sometimes you will need to source required cables on your own.
- FOR STAFF: Any device that has been decommissioned is NOT to be used in the Staff / Student environment (Including GamePlus Staff Desks) - They must be taken offsite.
If you are having issues with any devices, IT may be willing to provide personal assistance where able, but are not obligated to do so.
