Available within Intune Company Portal, this special installer will download and install the latest Epic Games Launcher from https://launcher-public-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com/launcher/api/installer/download/EpicGamesLauncherInstaller.msi.
Special permissions are also applied, that permits the Launcher to automatically run with Administration privileges allowing staff to utilise the launcher to install Unreal Engine versions of their choosing.
Executables with Automatic Administration Privileges
The following executables will run with Administration privileges automatically; via a Microsoft feature called Endpoint Privilege Management (available to Staff laptops only).
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\SelfUpdateStaging\Install\Portal\Extras\Redist\LauncherPrereqSetup_x64.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\EpicGamesLauncher.exe
Note: Both these executables will only run if signed by "Epic Games, Inc" code signing certificate.
