As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) IT has setup online/virtual based classrooms, access to licensed software and downloads (via VPN connectivity). Plus access to the Classes and Resources drives that you normally access on-campus – all from the comfort of your home.

Virtual Classes

To attend a Virtual Class, you’ll need a headset (preferably with a microphone).

  1. Login to https://aie.instructure.com with your AIE student username and password (e.g. s197999)
  2. Navigate to your course and click “Virtual Classes” in the menu
  3. From this page you will be able to “Join” any scheduled classes created by your Teacher.

Required Software

Microsoft Teams is the official communication tool between teachers and students. You can use either the web-based client or preferably download the desktop application.

  1. Login to https://teams.microsoft.com with your AIE student e-mail address and password (e.g. s197999@students.aie.edu for USA students or @s197999@students.aie.edu.au for Australian students)
  2. Either use the web-client or download the desktop application (bottom left corner).

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Connectivity & Accessing Campus Servers

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows students to securely connect to the AIE network to access file servers, floating licensing servers for licensing software.

For specific information on how to connect, please select the location you are enrolled at.

  3. Once downloaded, install the software to your computer

Accessing Classes & Reference Drives from a Personal PC

To access your Classes and References drives, you’ll need to manually connect to our file shares whilst connected to our VPN.

  1. First, ensure you are connected to the VPN.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and enter the share you wish to access:
    1. \\seafs1\Classes - To access your Classes drive
    2. \\seafs1\Reference - To access your Reference drive
    3. \\seafs1\ - To access any other shares you have access to
  3. You may also map these shares to a drive letter by clicking “Map A Network Drive” from Windows Explorer.
  4. Then selecting a Drive letter and entering in one of the above locations as the Folder. For example to replicate our Z:\Classes drive you would enter.

Software Downloads

Accessing Software Downloads from a Personal PC

For details on how to access required software:

  1. Login to https://aie.instucture.com/
  2. Navigate to the ”!Welcome to AIE - USA Campuses” course.
  3. Click “Software Downloads” and review the information on the page.

PC & Equipment Loan Program

For students wishing to request loan hardware, please speak with your Head of School who can process your request for equipment to be made available on a loan basis.
